Omega Constellation vintage watches are highly popular. The Omega Constellation was a follow-up to the immensely popular gold watch Omega made in 6000 pieces to mark its 100th anniversary in 1948. The Omega Constellation launched in 1952. The model was named "Constellation" thanks to the 8 stars on the back case, two of them denoting chronometer records, and the six other first place awards Omega won between 1933 and 1952.
Watch enthusiasts worldwide know many Omega Constellation vintage watches as "pie pan", thanks to the dial's characteristically convexly arched silhouette on a number of the models, which in much of the world is recognised as a pie shape. The first Omega Constellation watches featured automatic "bumper rotor" movements where the rotor, instead of rotating the entire lap, bounces between two bumper springs.
