Founder Louis Cartier created the Cartier Tank in 1917. The design was inspired by the lines of the French tank Renault FT-17. The first prototype of the Cartier Tank was given to US General John Pershing in 1918. The Cartier Tank Asymétrique is diamond-shaped and its dial is rotated 30 degrees clockwise in the case.
