Founded in the USA by German-born Levi Strauss in 1853, Levi’s originally produced workwear made from canvas, but soon switched their production to hard-wearing denim. In 1873, the company created the world’s first pair of jeans, an innovation that would quickly become popular with the cowboys and goldminers of the time.
If there is one product synonymous with the Levi’s name, it must be their iconic 501 Jeans. The name was first applied to their jeans featuring copper rivets. Since then, this classic model has undergone numerous transformations without ever losing its status as a timeless icon.
