Champion

Champion has been part of the sportswear world for over a century now and is also the name behind the very first hooded sweatshirt, or ‘hoodie’. Today, the brand collaborates with such prestigious brands as Vêtements, Supreme and Rick Owens, but still finds time to design and produce the classic sportswear and leisurewear with which they made their name.

Champion’s connections to the world of sport and the American college-casual style have been clear from the start. In 1934, the brand joined forces with Moe’s Sports Shop to produce college t-shirts and sweaters, including the world’s very first hooded sweatshirt. The ‘hoodie’ was originally designed as a practical garment, made to be worn during warm-ups and training, as well as while waiting on the side-lines.
